I’ve been following the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse pretty close. Mainly because it was a national news story, but also because I, like just about everyone else in the world, saw the infamous videos where Kyle was being attacked and, as a result, acted in self-defense by killing two individuals and wounding another.
I’m not sure which planet some of these nut jobs (In the press) opposing the verdict are from, but this young man did the only thing he could do in several split-second decisions.
You can argue all day long that he shouldn’t have been there with an AR-15 in the first place, but your argument is invalid. He had just as much right to be there as anyone else. If people are so concerned about his being there when they feel he shouldn’t have been, why not advocate for the arrest of the individuals who came to Kenosha specifically to riot with absolutely no connection to Kenosha whatsoever?
For crying out loud, he was clearly being attacked! I would love to see what some people would have done in that same exact situation.
The white man who chased Kyle Rittenhouse was a convicted pedophile who spent 12 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child. He was also dropping the n-word as he was chasing Kyle. While the man and his previous convictions have nothing to do with Kyle, it does say something about his character.
There’s no clear answer as to why Rittenhouse was targeted to begin with, but apparently, Rosenbaum chased Rittenhouse into a used car lot. Realizing he was being targeted, Rittenhouse started yelling “Friendly, friendly, friendly.” Rosenbaum then throws a plastic bag containing toiletries at Rittenhouse. * Rittenhouse testified that Rosenbaum grabbed his gun. A journalist for the Daily Caller testified that Rosenbaum lunged for Kyle’s rifle. Rittenhouse fires his gun at Rosenbaum, hitting him four times and killing him.
The video shows Rittenhouse fleeing the scene of the Rosenbaum shooting and being chased by a growing crowd. Court testimony indicates that some in the crowd were yelling “Get him!” A few minutes later, Rittenhouse stumbles to the ground and fatally shoots Anthony Huber, a 26-year-old who swung a skateboard at his head.
After Huber was shot, Gaige Grosskreutz, now 27, stops moving toward Rittenhouse and put his hands in the air. He was a convicted felon holding a handgun. When Grosskreutz resumes advancing, Rittenhouse shoots him, severing most of his bicep. Rittenhouse testified that Grosskreutz had his pistol pointed at his head. Rittenhouse then walks toward the police with his hands up and the rifle slung across his body. Police order him to get out of the way and one officer pepper sprays Rittenhouse when he approaches the window of the patrol car. The police then drive off, believing the active shooter was elsewhere.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 26, Rittenhouse, accompanied by his mother, turns himself into a police station in his hometown of Antioch, Illinois.
The rest is history. He would be acquitted on all 5 counts brought against him.
I’m amazed at how the media stole the spotlight with this case. How the media had Kyle Rittenhouse convicted of murder before the trial even started. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am.
Several media outlets were quoted as saying Rittenhouse had murdered a black man in cold blood. Talk about adding fuel to the fire! This was a white-on-white crime that was fueled by the media.
What astounds me is how our country has created this image of Joseph Rosenbaum as an American patriot of some sort. Don’t believe me? Here are a few quotes from the Go Fund Me page that was set up on his behalf.
