Your senior year is going to be filled with memories that will last a lifetime. So, when is the best time to take senior pictures? Officially, senior pictures can start the summer after your Junior year, but the best time to take your senior pictures is between the fall semester and Christmas. Not only is it beautiful outside, but the mood and setting can usually lift one’s spirits.
Feel free to have a look at my Senior Pictures Gallery.
Your senior year will include final dances, final football games, shopping for clothes and weekends and evenings filled with extracurricular activities. Your time will become more and more valuable. The best time to take senior pictures will be a time when you become dedicated to the task.
When planning for your senior pictures, you’ll want to make sure you shop for clothes at least 2 weeks before your photo session. This will give you plenty of time to wear your clothes, and shoes, to make sure they’re comfortable enough. A typical photo session can last anywhere from 2-4 hours, so you’ll want to make sure everything fits properly.
As you start planning the best time to take senior pictures, it’s important to leave yourself plenty of time to get to your destination. Take things like traffic, long lines and distance into consideration. You don’t want to plan the best time to take senior pictures only to have something delay you in the final hours.
If you plan on having a makeup artist or hair stylist, be sure to include this in your plans.
When planning the best time to take senior pictures, it’s extremely important that you speak with your photographer about what you would like to see in the final pictures. For me personally, I like to discuss venue, the wardrobe and even get to know you. Knowing what you like and dislike are paramount in deciding where and how to take your senior pictures. Aside from getting to know you, it may make you feel more comfortable when having your picture taken.
When choosing the best time to take senior pictures, don’t forget about graduation announcements. You’ll want to make sure the announcements are printed and mailed by Spring. If you have any yearbook deadlines, you’ll also want to keep that in mind.
It may seem a little overwhelming when you’re trying to find the best time to take senior pictures, but don’t let it get to you. It will be well worth it in the long run.
Once you get to know me, you’ll understand that I like to make each senior feel extremely comfortable. I feel it’s important to take senior pictures that reflect who you are. If I can get you to loosen up, have a good time and expose your true persona, your senior pictures will turn out beautifully.
