First Day In Waco

My first day at the Walmart Distribution Center in Waco went pretty good. We got there around 7 am and met with the guy in charge. He showed me which doors we were supposed to do, left, and we took off running!

It only took a few minutes to mark my cut lines before I started cutting. By 9:30 am, I had most of the cutting done. Then it was time to make the horizontal cuts. Seemed to go ok at first, but I soon discovered there was a ton of rebar in the wall. More than usual. I had concrete scheduled for 2:30 PM, but as the time quickly approached, I had to call the concrete company and let them know we weren’t going to make it in time. I’ve rescheduled it for today.

We only have 1 more horizontal cut to go and everything else will just fall in place.

The first night I was at the hotel, the fire alarms kept going off around midnight. They went off and on for more than an hour. I mentioned it to the desk clerk last night as I was going to my room. I casually made a comment that I should get a free night. 2 free nights because I’m paying for 2 rooms. One for me and one for my worker. The clerk wrote me 2 certificates for a free night. Said I could use them for this stay if I wanted to. I thought that was pretty nice of him. Makes me not mind putting up with the fire alarms once in awhile!
